Teaching Attention in a Distracted Age

But there are also moments when students need fewer inputs, more mental space, and the opportunity to focus deeply without distractions competing for their attention.This connects directly to what we see in classrooms. Students may need explicit guidance in how to sustain attention, recognize when multitasking is weakening their thinking, and understand why silence, stillness, reading, writing, and reflection still matter. Teachers also play an important role in creating focused environments and modeling healthy attention habits themselves.At the end of the day, I believe attention is deeply connected to learning, relationships, empathy, creativity, and presence.
