Hello, welcome to the first ever episode of Broken Record. My name is Ellie, and I will be your host for this awesome show. It's going to be airing on Tuesdays at 6 p.m., and it'll be focusing on music. And I'll be uploading a whole bunch of different stuff.
I'll be doing, sometimes it'll be an artist of the week, where I go over who they are, what their music is like, how they got their start. I'll do, I'll go over award ceremonies, like how to get nominated, how, who gets invited. I'll do, I'll bring you concerts. I'll, like, probably do a vlog-style type episode, where I bring you concerts, and I'll have to go over genres, I'll go over music that's important to me.
I'll take you on a whole journey. No, but I'm really excited. I love music. And if you know me personally, music is one of, like, my biggest passions, I would say.
Like, I have over, I think, a hundred vinyl records in my room. I have a couple cassettes from when my dad was a kid, which I think is super cool. I have a million bajillion playlists on my phone, and I always, always, always am listening to music, or finding music to listen to, or watching music videos, or, like, analyzing concepts of different songs, or music videos, or trailers, or whatever is being talked about at that moment. In my family, I'm usually the person to bring new music, like, introduce new music to people.
Like, my sister Audrey, whenever we drive in the car, we each play our playlists, and a lot of the times, I play some songs, and she doesn't know what they are. And so then she gets to add them to her playlist, which is really cool, because it's like, whoa, I picked a song, and someone else liked it. And, like, I didn't even make this song, but it just feels so cool, like, knowing I found a song, and, like, other people like it, too. And then, it's just so cool.
Okay, before we do any of that, though, I want to introduce myself to you a little bit. I just want to get some basic facts out there, so you know who's talking to you, who's the voice that you're hearing. So, I'm Ellie. I said that in the beginning, but I'm Ellie.
I'm a sophomore at Marshmallow High School. I absolutely adore listening to music. It's my favorite thing to do. Right now, I have three playlists that I play quite often.
One of them is called Locating, which is kind of just, like, a calm feeling, like, kind of just, like, it's what I would picture, like, the soundtrack of, like, someone driving in their car would be like, but not, like, on, like, a calm night or, like, a rainy night or something. And so some of the songs on there are Where'd All the Time Go by Dr. Dog, and My Kind of Woman by Matt DeMarco, and Time of Slow by Bad Bad Not Good, and Samuel T. Harris, I think.
Herring, sorry. And so that's just kind of the vibe for that one. And then I also play a song, not a song, sorry, a playlist called, it actually doesn't have a title. It's called Untitled Playlist right now, because I just haven't thought of it.
A title yet. And that one is kind of more, like, a get your body moving, like, head pumping playlist. And so that one is, it has a bunch of songs. One of them is called In One Ear by Cage the Elephant.
Another one is Nice to Meet Ya by Nile Horn. And then another one on that playlist is Hypnotize by The Notorious B.I.G. Big. And so, yeah, those are just some of the songs I listen to, some of the playlists I play, those vibes for the playlist.
I have a bunch more, though, and I'll be getting into all of those on my podcast slash radio show. It'll be super, super fun. I definitely recommend listening to it, because we're gonna go on the stream together. This is my first time hosting a show by myself.
I'm a little bit nervous, but I think we're gonna do great. I think I'm gonna do my best to put out some great content, and I hope that if you're listening, you will continue to listen, or you will just discover me one day, and then you'll be like, whoa, this is so cool. Let me listen more. And then you won't, and it'll be super cool.
I really have besties. Yeah, and speaking of uploading, I will be, this show comes on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. every single week. And then I'm obviously uploading on the radio, because that's probably where you're listening.
And I will also be, I'm working on getting my podcast up on Spotify and Apple Music, but I mean, I have a cover art for that, and I currently don't have a cover art for that, so I don't want to just upload this without any art, because then it'll be boring. So, if you have any ideas, let me know. No, but yes, I'm going to work on getting my show up on other streaming platforms, and once I do, I will let you know, so you can listen to it and tell all your friends and be super cool, and it'll be great. And I'm going to sign off, yeah.
Okay, I'll see you next Tuesday at 6 p.m. on KMIH 88.9 The Bridge.
