Although she began her writing later in life, she did so with great passion. Being of Cherokee descent and having had stories passed down from generation to generation, Debra was drawn to family history to enlist a genealogist to verify her conclusions. Travelling to relevant destinations along the east coast and the Midwest, she brought her findings back to the peace, calm, and tranquillity she felt God provided her in the Sunshine State. With the release of Woman of Many Names, she now puts her sights on a follow-up to document the next stage of her seventh-great-grandmother’s historical life. Her book, “Woman of Many Names,” is about her seventh-great-grandmother, Nancy Ward, who was an important woman in (Native) American history. Nancy Ward (also known as Nanyehi) had ties to Daniel Boone and George Washington, including having saved the latter’s life and, it’s believed, vice versa. (Later, letters from Ward to Washington were found in Thomas Jefferson’s effects.)http://www.facebook.com/WomanOfManyNames --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/misslizsteatimes/messageBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/teatime-with-miss-liz--5511005/support.
