Her poetry has appeared in both online publications and anthologies. She has authored a poetry collection called, “Remember This Day,” which was just released in August, and a children's book called “Who Wants to Be Friends With a Dragon?” which was released early this year and was co-authored with Eve Marie Little, centers around the themes of belonging, acceptance, and self-isolation. Many children self-isolate or don’t know how to build a bridge with someone different from them. Hopefully, This book will help children recognize their own self-worth and ability to make friends through the traits that make them different. Learn more about Linda and her works from her official website, www.LindaDrattell.comMessage from Linda My poetry book, Remember This DayAs a deafened person, I’ve become more aware of my surroundings, for example, the man who died sitting on a park bench, the mother who was looking at her cell phone instead of her children playing, people moving at different paces. I also find parallels in animals and nature for human emotions such as compassion, orneriness, the struggle to survive, fear of surviving, and the anguish and guilt of surviving as we did in the Nice terror attack 2016. I’ve written about the need to reject feelings of worthlessness others may try to impose on us. I use examples I find in nature, the horses and goats I’ve cared for, and my observation of others. The main lesson I’ve learned throughout my life is, “Enjoy your time on Earth as it is, for you never know what will happen tomorrow. Make the best of your time here today.”I’ve been enjoying my redefinition of myself lately as a writer. CTV30, KKIQ, Fremont Patch, and Pleasanton Weekly have interviewed me. I’ve recited poems on Sonic Salon podcast, Eat the Storms podcast, and Viewless Wings podcast. And I recited my poetry at the Dublin, California Splatter Festival. My poetry has also appeared in the Dublin, California Poetry Walk two years in a row.https://www.facebook.com/AuthorLindaDrattell/https://twitter.com/LindaDrattellhttps://www.instagram.com/lindadrattell/https://www.linkedin.com/in/linda-drattell-9482a718/ the --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/misslizsteatimes/messageBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/teatime-with-miss-liz--5511005/support.
