Tech Leader Pro podcast 2023 week 21, removing the Twitter app from my phone

from Lead Prompt Podcast · host John Collins

I've removed the Twitter app from my phone this week, to reduce my time on social media. I am not dropping completely, but just reducing my time on Twitter, especially in the evenings. From now on, I will time box my social media to a few slots per day, and live with the inconvenience of using my laptop. Friction can be positive when it stops you wasting your time. I've written about User Generated Content or UGC before, and how platforms like Twitter are designed, via gamification, to entice you to post that content onto their platforms as often as possible. Ref: https://techleader.pro/a/394-Think-twice-before-giving-away-your-UGC Remember that when you give your content away for free, you enrich platform owners. If nobody was posting on social media, it would lose value rapidly. The financial trading expert Anton Kriel once said "ditch your smart phone to become more efficient". Think about all of the time you spend each day on social media, and now imagine spending that time on building wealth for you and your family instead. What I am working on this week: My search engine now has 1m documents in it's offline index, so it is time to put that online!
