Tech talks with Kindship and Courageous Kids

Kate and Mandy have a two-part ep focused on tech! In Part A, we welcome Summer, Sandy, Tara and Steph from Kindship – an app that helps parents raising kids with disabilities, delays and neurodiversity to connect. Fostering a growing grassroots community, the app has key features that allow parents to find new connections, share information and join in audio live chats in real time. Designed with the help of a child psychologist and OT, the app aims to provide families with more preventative and supportive tools to tackle childhood anxiety and help kids prepare for change while also learning to identify and express emotions. One of the most unique functions of the app is its personalisation features. Parents can replace the story illustrations with their own photographs, and customise the text, increasing their child's familiarity with new people and situations. Importantly the child is the hero of each story!Kathryn shares her reasons behind developing the app and her hopes and dreams that the app will provide all kids with the emotional support that they need when they need it, while also opening up thoughtful discussions that help to strengthen the bond between parents and kids.
