TechnoSnobCast Ep - 35 Featuring maxiu

Bio: maxiu is a DJ/producer who recently joined to the Detroit scene. Growing up as a classical and jazz clarinetist, his first introduction to electronic music culture was from China's booming underground club scene, and he eventually performed several times at DADA Beijing. At the same time, he was very much exposed to hiphop style DJing and turntablism. After moving to the US, he got heavily involved in Pittsburgh’s techno scene and frequented after hour club Hot Mass. He became the Business Manager and radio DJ at WRCT 88.3FM Pittsburgh from 2018-2020, and hosted a weekly show “Couchlock” focusing on ambient electronic music. maxiu’s passion in mixing evolves around texture and sculpting dreamy soundscapes, as he plays with an eclectic blend of faster paced techno, electro, and IDM.
