Ted Lasso Shines on KC Soccer Field | Kansas City Royals News

Ted Lasso’s latest season shines a global spotlight on Kansas City, thanks to a surprise cameo of CPKC Stadium—the world’s first stadium built exclusively for a women’s professional soccer team. Inspired by the real-life KC Current and their founders Chris and Angie Long, the show’s creators wove the team’s story into the plot, even briefly imagining Ted himself coaching in the U.S. Filming at the stadium in June 2025 captured both game-day energy and behind-the-scenes magic, with the Longs thrilled to see their vision celebrated on screen. Jason Sudeikis’ support for women’s sports aligns perfectly with the episode’s uplifting message, turning this feature into a powerful moment for gender equity in athletics—and a major win for Kansas City’s growing sports legacy.
