Teen Girl Killed in Las Vegas Home Tragedy | Las Vegas News

A fourteen-year-old girl, Aven Ny’elle Drummond, was tragically killed in her Las Vegas home by her stepfather, Jason Simmons, who also critically injured her mother and a police officer before taking his own life. Just days away from her 15th birthday, Aven’s death has sparked outrage as authorities label the attack domestic violence. Simmons, armed with a rifle and handguns, used a blowtorch on her mother and shot through a locked door, wounding Officer Zaira Venegas-Hernandez. The family, represented by Christian Morris Trial Attorneys, called the violence unjustified and thanked first responders. A GoFundMe has been launched to help cover funeral costs.
