I was also fascinated by the wave of cheap windows 8.1 laptops that hit recently that are similar to all the great chromebooks that hit last year. You might want to take a look at the acer e11 instead which has basically the same guts (cpu), form factor, etc but is MUCH more upgradeable: ram, and standard 2.5" hdd so you can put in an ssd if you want. It's the same price of $199 but make sure you get the one at target (not amazon) for the fully upgradable 2.5" drive bay. So I upgraded mine to 8gb of ram and a 240gb SSD and it's not a half bad little windows machine.
