Telling my Truths
from So What's The Sitch? · host Kimi
At some point you have to just tell the truth so buckle up cos this one is deep and chaotic and real! Rather than keeping what’s been going on in my life and mind bottled up , I decided to express it all here SWTS debrief style and give you some insight into my current mental state and basically what the actual go is and why I am who I am. Until fairly recently, I never spoke about some of the biggest struggles I’ve been tasked with and still work on every single day. You will have to bear with me, it’s weird talking about something you never thought you would – especially out to the void! I address some of the things that impact my brain and body on a daily basis from mental health, post traumatic stress, racial microagressions and feeling like I belonged to nowhere. I answer the age old question that has plagued me (but no longer does!) Where are you from? ....It’s a long story so I made a podcast lol. TEASPILL: letting you in on my diagnoses because I know now they don’t define me and I actually love a lot about my brain, balancing joy and celebration while holding grief and suffering, my really honest opinions of growing up in Australia as a South African, Indian Australian and facing the things you’re avoiding in order to keep growing. This ep was long overdue, I’ve been avoiding saying these things out loud – which wouldnt be right anymore, because it’s all true and it’s all me. Thank you for listening , Hope you go and express your mind to whoever will listen. Keep in con @swtspodcast on Instagram Peace out and catch you next week for more debriefs 😊 I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land throughout Australia and Meanjin, on which this podcast was created and recorded. I offer my deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all First Nations people.
