Telstra says it has fully resolved all issues linked to today's nationwide outage and says it's identified and isolated a software defect which caused the outage. The federal Communications Minister Anika Wells says today's Telstra outage demonstrates why the telcos are the least trusted industry in Australia. Telstra customers across the nation began experiencing issues from around 430am today, with mobile and data connectivity, payment systems and external telecommunication on regional rail networks in Victoria and New South Wales affected. Reserve Bank chief economist Sarah Hunter says rising geopolitical tensions, trade fragmentation and extreme climate events are just some of the shocks facing the Australian economy with increasing frequency. Dr Hunter says the RBA is investing in new economic models, research, and frameworks to deal with these new problems. The central bank's next interest rate meeting will be held on August 10 and 11. Funeral processions for Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have begun in the holy city of Najaf in Iraq, with thousands of mourners attending. The days-long funeral for the ayatollah, who was killed in air strikes on the first day of the U-S-Israeli war on Iran, began on Saturday, with authorities shutting down streets, airspace and daily life in Tehran for its multitudes of mourners.
