"Temporal Rift"- The HAARP Unit Live

This is a soundscape track I came up with a little while before playing this show. This version was a live performance on KFJC 89.7 fm on 4-30-1998, during D.J. Solomon Grundy's show "At The Mountains Of Madness". He had me on his show before he went off the air, along with some other bands. With this piece I used a backing track recording that was made from a phased guitar loop that was slowed down quite a bit with a digital recorder (a Roland VS-880). I then put about 20 minutes of track on a mini-disc for my background used here. I played ambient & somewhat chaotic synth washes, & guitar with e-bow & glass slide, with the Lexicon Jam Man set in the long delay mode, for a sort of "Frippertronic" type of effect. On the 2nd half of the jam, I had the Jam Man set on "reverse sample" effect & played & replayed reverse slide guitar with more synth madness.
