TEMPORARY SUFFERINGS

Life has a way of pressing in on us. Sometimes, it presses gently in the form of daily stress or an uncertain outcome, Perhaps it’s a prayer that hasn’t yet been answered. But other times, it presses so hard we feel like we can’t breathe. The truth is that pain comes in all shapes and sizes. For someone today, it’s a health crisis. For another, it might be a broken relationship or a loss that leaves an aching emptiness. And then there’s the hidden kind, the internal battles, that bring a sense of being unseen or misunderstood or alone. And yet, tucked into Romans 8:18 is a perspective that lifts our eyes from the heaviness of “now” and turns them toward the promise of “not yet.” Romans 8:18 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
