Temporary versus eternal

The theme recently seems to have been about us missing out, in not accessing what God has for us. Yesterday we were specifically cautioned that we sometimes hold on to what we believe is beautiful and precious when God has something far better for us. Today's message is more on the lines of recognising that physical wealth is temporary and the constant amassing of it does not fulfil us (see Ecclesiastes 5:10) but, instead, we are to build up our spiritual treasures which endure forever (see Matthew 6:19-21; 2 Corinthians 4:18; 1 Peter 1:4). Apostle Paul succinctly tells us not to set our hopes "on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. (We) are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for (ourselves) as a good foundation for the future, so thay (we) may take hold of that which is truly life" (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
