Hi, this is Pastor Diego. Welcome to the daily five. Thank you for joining us today. This podcast is designed to give you a short daily Five-minute word of encouragement to inspire you to think and act on God's word Did you know that God allows temptation and trials in our life because it can be good for us?
Welcome to today's episode today I want to talk about temptations and trials and why they can be good some of you may not completely understand what the difference is between Temptation and a trial. So let me answer that first Temptation has the sole purpose of tearing you down as a believer of causing you harm That's what a temptation does and a trial a trial is different It's like a test a difficulty you may go through but that's for the purpose of building you up not tearing you down That's the major difference between a temptation in a trial Temptation is an invitation to sin sin is anything that displeases God that goes against his word who he is his character God doesn't tempt us to sin, but he does test us. Let's read from James chapter 1 verse 12 through 17 Look what it says Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial For when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life Which God has promised to those who love him let no one say when he is tempted I am being tempted by God for God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one But each person is tempted when he is lured lured and enticed by his own desire God will never lead someone to sin because doing so goes against his very nature because by nature God is holy totally separate from sin But he will test believers by putting them through or allowing them to go through difficult situations that will strengthen them and reveal the true condition of their heart We must believe by faith that God has our best interest in mind and not doubt his love or provision regardless of the circumstances that we're going through In tempting us Satan wants to harm us and he wants to damage our relationship with God Saint wants to do two things number one He wants us to sin and number two he wants us to turn our back on God So the question a lot of people ask me is why doesn't God stop Satan completely from tempting us and keep us safe and answer to that Is because keeping us safe from every temptation that may come into our life is not the best way for us to grow strong in our walk with God When we're facing temptation God promises that every situation will have a way out and the way out may not be easy And we may not even always take that way out But the fact that a way out exists means that we will never be forced to sin as long as as we're on this earth Will always experience temptation but temptation itself isn't sin the Bible says that Jesus was tempted yet He was without sin It also says in Ephesians chapter 4 verse 26 and your anger do not sin so temptation is not sin in itself This means that difficult messy things are not always sin sometimes the consequence of temptation is self condemnation But the reality is that temptation is normal and it's gonna happen to us every day It doesn't mean that we're bad people it only means that we're human When we're facing a test on the other hand God's intention is always for believers to emerge from a trial better than when they started Either in strength or knowledge of his will for their lives when God tests us. It's always for our best Testing helps us develop patterns of obedience and obedience results in a strong walk with God When we come out of a trial successfully not only is God glorified But also we're strengthened in our confidence and in the certainty of God's will in his love for our lives Let me give you one last piece of helpful advice when it comes to temptation Jesus knew that temptation would be a way of life So in Matthew chapter 6 he gives his disciples a pattern of prayer that would help them in dealing with temptation Jesus says we should pray like this in verse 13 of Matthew chapter 6 He says and don't let us yield to temptation but rescue us from the evil one So I advise you to add this into your prayer life Ask Jesus to keep you from falling into temptation.
God bless you. Talk to you tomorrow You
