We are learning Spanish with the Ukrainian folk tale "The Mitten" as retold by Jan Brett in this term of Jump Into Spanish (Term 1B). Jump in the fun with us! Today's words are: la rueca | (lah roo-EH-kah) | the spinning wheel la cesta | (lah SEHS-tah) | the basket las agujas de tejer | (las ah-GOO-hahs deh teh-HEHR) | the knitting needles los ovillos | (lohs oh-BEE-yohs) | the balls of yarn el hilo | (ehl EE-loh) | the yarn, thread las cerámicas | (lahs seh-RAH-mee-kahs) | the pottery Make sure you find a picture or come up with an action to represent each word. THEN, as you repeat each word after me, make sure you are also pointing to the picture or saying the word out loud. This helps your brain really think in Spanish instead of translating from English to Spanish.
