Terrifying & True | Room 1046: The Unsolved Murder of Artemus Ogletree

Room 1046 at Kansas City’s President Hotel held a dying man, a false name, and a mystery that would outlast his identification. In January 1935, the guest registered as Roland T. Owen was found bound and badly wounded after days of odd calls and unexplained visitors. He was later identified as Artemus Ogletree. Terrifying & True follows the hotel staff’s observations, a note to “Don,” and an anonymous payment for the burial. Who attacked the young traveler, and why did letters suggest he was alive after his death? We're telling that story tonight.
