Terrifying & True | The Funhouse Mummy: Elmer McCurdy's Horrifying Tale This Halloween

A funhouse dummy breaks, revealing human bone. How did an Oklahoma outlaw end up on a Long Beach dark ride? Terrifying & True follows Elmer McCurdy, the Funhouse Mummy, from his death in 1911 through decades as a traveling sideshow attraction to his identification after a 1976 film-crew discovery at The Pike. Forensic clues and a carnival paper trail restore a name to the body, finally buried in Guthrie in 1977. This Weekly Spooky documentary examines the unsettling business of displaying the dead.
