Terrifying & True | Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield & the Crimes That Inspired Horror

Ed Gein’s crimes in Plainfield, Wisconsin, helped shape some of horror cinema’s most recognizable monsters. Terrifying & True examines the disappearance of Bernice Worden, the discovery at Gein’s farmhouse and the grave robberies behind its disturbing contents. The episode follows the real case alongside its influence on “Psycho,” “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” and “The Silence of the Lambs,” keeping fiction distinct from the people and crimes that inspired it. How did one isolated farmhouse cast such a long shadow over horror? We're telling that story tonight.
