Test Tones
from Ambisonic Studio · host Ambisonic Studio
This file uses binaural encoding: it is meant to be played back on headphones. For people familiar with Ambisonics: since my stochastic panners are horizontal only, I actually used the horizontal "V" channel of the 2nd order as a stand-in for the 1st order vertical "Z" channel. I don't know how well this height information translates to binaural, but it did make some nice moving color blobs in the Harpex-B interface while it was converting the B-Format to binaural... The Audio Units plug-ins used for live performance and responsible for random routing, processing and spatialization were built with SonicBirth. The live performance is done in Plogue Bidule. The 1st order B-Format file out of Bidule was converted to binaural in Nuendo using the Harpex-B decoder with the "Kemar 1" HRTF set and the "diffuse" EQ setting. Conversion to FLAC was done with XLD. Just scale, 22 Hz base frequency
