from WomenKind Collective

In this week’s podcast we meet the extraordinary Dr Zoe Hodson who talks all things testosterone during the menopause and why it’s not just for boys.Did you know that pre menopause women produce 3-4 times as much testosterone than oestrogen, so why is this hormone not on our GP’s radar? Find out as Dr Zoe answers all ours & the Collectives questions. We hear some fashion news that takes us back to the 80’s and there’s a bit of beauty news on the new Maybelline tattoo brow, but can we read how to use it?In the Foodie it’s a new month and the theme is healthy food on a budget with a very tasty meal from Jinty. In the Book Collective we start to read Maddy Anholt’s How To Leave Your Psychopath, and it’s already a great read. There’s a Movie Collective this month, Lou went to the cinema and reports back on Kenneth Branagh’s Death on The Nile. And there’s a WI to get you naked and love your body! Dr Zoe Hodson has been a GP for 20 years and has been working full time in menopause care for the last 2 years. For the last 12 months Zoe has been campaigning with menopause support for women who are refused testosterone. We learn how a deficiency in testosterone may effect the body in menopause, and it’s not only about libido!  In fashion news the slouchy tailored suit is back! Who knew that this fashion trend from the 80’s would make a return to the catwalk? In beauty news Lou struggles to open and then read Maybelline’s new Tattoo Brow, is she going to recommend it? Maddy Anholt is an ambassador for Women’s Aid and her new book, How To Leave Your Psychopath will have you squirming at the psycho’s that are out in the dating world, we begin by meeting Damien…. And he’s definitely on the psychometer. Maddy tells us, What you put up with at the end of the relationship is not what you would have put up with in the beginning. Maddy is hitting the nails on the head with this book. As inflation is on the rise, fuel prices are going through the roof, this month we have decided to look at healthy food on a budget. Jinty kicks off this month’s foodie with a lentil and beef cassoulet. It’s brimming with goodness and comes in at under £2.50 a portion. In the Movie Collective, Lou takes a trip to a very atmospheric cinema to watch Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile. Branagh plays Poirot and we get a prequel to the film and a look at a young Poirot’s love life. As good as it was to see it on the big screen, would we recommend you wait until it comes onto the small screen? The WI this week is from Lou and it’s about getting to know and love your body in all its naked glory. So get the heating on and get ready for this revealing WI.  Recipe will be in our Instagram page this weekPlease don’t forget to sign our petition for a menopause clinic in Devon campaign:https://www.change.org/p/wheresmyclinicOur #wheresmyclinic campaign for a Menopause Clinic in Devon has now launched a website with the petition and template letters to send to your MP and local CCG.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/womenkindcollectivepodcast/message☕ SUBSCRIBE for honest chats on women’s health, feminist issues, sisterhood & smashing the patriarchy, one cuppa at a time.💛 Enjoying the podcast?
