Hi there, from CNN, I'm Charlie Dreeva. What the five things you need to know for Wednesday, September 24th. We start this episode in Dallas, where authorities say at least one person is dead and two injured after shooting at an ICE facility. According to two law enforcement officials with knowledge of the incident, at least two detainees were shot.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said on X that the suspect is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Earlier, acting ICE director Todd Lyons told CNN preliminary information shows that there was a possible sniper. It's just a sad time that we have to wear a violence against law enforcement. ICE's deputy director Madison Shehan said no officers were injured in the attack.
So far this year, this is at least the third shooting of an ICE or Customs and Border Protection Facility in Texas, being targeted by gunfire. Russia is pushing back against President Donald Trump's claim that Ukraine can regain its territory. Trump posted on Truth Social yesterday that Ukraine is in a position to win all of its territory back with the support of the European Union. Andy said the war quote, should have taken a real military power less than a week to win, and saying the way Russia was fighting made it look like a paper tiger.
The comments came as a pleasant surprise to Ukrainian President Blodemys Zelensky. Take a listen to him speaking about it to Fox News. Do you think his position has changed? Yes, I think so.
And God bless. But Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov says Trump is, quote, deeply mistaken in thinking that Ukraine can retake any of its territory occupied by Russia. Speaking to journalists today, Peskov also described Russia as a real bear and not a paper tiger. Now to the impact of Trump's tariffs on the economy, a survey of business executives found that inflation could have been about 30% lower this year if not for Trump's tariff policy.
Here's CNN's Matt Egan. This survey from Duke University in a pair of Fed banks finds that CFOs they expect to increase prices this year by almost 4%. And what's notable is that they attribute about a third of those price increases to, you guessed it, tariffs. The other thing that really stands out though from this survey is that CFOs, they don't say that these price increases are just going to happen this year and be done with.
In fact, they expect to raise prices again next year. That really undermines the argument that we often hear from the Trump administration. The tariffs are just going to be a one-time price adjustment and then we kind of forget about it. International health agencies are reacting to Trump's claims about parliament on autism.
And for many, the response is simple. Don't listen to the President. Pylenol is a brand name for acetaminophen, known in most countries as paracetamol. The UK's Health Minister said in a televised interview yesterday that the public should listen to British doctors and scientists instead of Trump.
While the Medicine Regulatory Agency for the European Union swiftly released a statement that taking paracetamol during pregnancy remains safe, they said that Pylenol can effectively treat fevers during pregnancy. And the experts say the risks of untreated fevers can be dangerous for both the fetus and the pregnant person. Experts also say there are multiple causes of autism. And the science on a connection between autism and Pylenol is not settled.
Is the rapcegenna happen today? Some religious TikTok users seem to think so. That's next. I guess if you think to keep in mind if I'm chosen during the rapcegenna.
Number one, I'm letting I'm wearing a denim miniskirt with built-in shorts underneath from Hollister so that nobody can see my underwear when I'm ascending. That's TikTok user, It's Janalu, parroting the so-called Rapture Talk videos popping up on the social media platform. If you haven't seen them, a group of evangelical Christians have been posting that the Rapture when Christians are taken to heaven is near. This all seems to stem from a social media video of a South African pastor claiming he had a vision of a rapcegenna happening yesterday and today.
Some people have mentioned quitting their jobs, preparing food for non-believers, and even offering practical tips on what happens when you ascend. And that's all for now, our next episode drops at 6pm Eastern.
