Texas Longhorns Rebuild Under Sarkisian | Missouri Tigers Football News

Texas Longhorns football is on the rise under Steve Sarkisian, who’s brought consistency and playoff success after years of coaching instability. Last season, they finished 10-2 with a thrilling win over Texas A&M, despite a puzzling loss to Florida and a close call against Ohio State. Sarkisian’s career has been a rollercoaster—from USC to Washington to a comeback at USC, then rebuilding his reputation under Saban—yet he’s now found his rhythm at Texas. The roster has been aggressively rebuilt via the transfer portal, replacing top running backs with elite newcomers like Raleek Brown and Hollywood Smothers, plus top-tier talent like Cam Coleman. With Arch Manning at QB and a revamped offensive line, the offense is poised for a major leap after ranking 30th last year. The defense is also bolstered, and a strong recruiting class—including linebacker Tyler Atkinson—signals a team built to contend. Texas may not be elite yet, but they’re back on track, with Sarkisian’s steady hand and a roster primed for a breakout season.
