Texas Tech Athletics on Fire | Big 12 Basketball News

Texas Tech is turning heads with a bold new football look — the all-black “Let’s Ride” uniform featuring Patrick Mahomes’ gladiator emblem, debuting Sept. 18 against Houston. Meanwhile, women’s volleyball hosts a free public scrimmage, baseball unveils its 2027 schedule, and men’s basketball gears up for a high-stakes preseason showdown in Kentucky. The school also honors legacy by naming the student section at Galaxy Stadium “The Jones Student Section,” paying tribute to the couple who helped fund the stadium in 1947. With strong transfer additions and a smart non-conference slate, both football and basketball are primed for big things — with basketball already being tipped as a top-five contender.
