The Atonement is obviously the way to evaluate your true Self. The Holy Spirit looks with Love on all the He perceives. The ego does not love you, and perceives you in a suspicious and even vicious way. God's will for us is happiness, and we attain that by evaluating ourselves correctly, through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. God Wills us perfect happiness now, and we need not delay our Joy. Peace abides in our true Self. Accepting the Atonement is the way to Peace. This is obvious. If we choose not to "see" our innocence, that is our free will to do. But A Course in Miracles is here to give us a different evaluation of truth, in which none of our "mistakes" of our false "self" have any real consequences. We accept our True Self by forgiving our "false self" that are opposing evaluations. The choice is obvious and simple.
