Welcome to the Tweed Trends podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evette, hey girl. And you are tuned in to Tweed Trends.

It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today. Welcome back to Tweed Trends, friends. Happy Thanksgiving. Yay, I have my mini me helping me today.

Happy Thanksgiving. And contrary to presidential belief, there is no war on Thanksgiving. There's no threat to it. It's not going anywhere, no time soon.

So the only thing that we need to get to the bottom of is our dinner plates. So without further ado, let's get into this Thanksgiving episode of Tweed Trends and let's get started. I don't know about you, but my family always starts Thanksgiving morning off with watching the Macy's Day Parade. Now leading up to today, it was one of those things where they kept talking about the fact that there might not be any balloons in the parade this year because of the winds.

And what they ended up doing was just flying them really close to the ground. They did not let them go up as high as they normally do. And they had lots of checks and balances, which I'm glad for the people that actually went to the parade because I can't imagine going to the Macy's Day Parade and not getting to see any of the balloons. That would just seem really weird.

Well, speaking of weird, another weird thing for me, being here that I wasn't at the parade, watching it on television seemed weird this year because there was a lot of extras. Like the station was doing the most when it came to advertising. There was an Etsy advertisement and overstock.com advertisement. I actually thought it was a show that the parade had gone off.

It was a segment that went for a good little bit and they covered a lot of things. And unfortunately, it worked on me, though, because I went to both websites to check out the stuff that they were talking about. But they were highlighting gifts and the overstock.com commercial was highlighting different ways that you could decorate for the holidays. So pretty much they fast-forwarded through the rest of today and shot their way on over to Christmas and had stockings hanging up at the chimney and everything.

So I don't know. I have a little one and I'm all about wanting to create things that she'll remember and traditions that she'll want to carry on. And at this point in time, she's not interested. She saw Paw Patrol balloon in the parade and it made her think of Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.

It's like, hey, can we change the channel? And I'm like, uh, no, this only comes on once a year. So we're going to enjoy this now. And when it goes off, you can watch whatever you want to watch while I'm preparing the rest of the food, you know?

But I'd love to know what types of things you guys have in place. How do you celebrate your Thanksgiving? While still on the topic of traditions, Black Friday has been a thing for a long time. Now, I do kind of remember a time when Black Friday wasn't as big as what it is now, but it's gotten so big that it outgrew Friday and now it's bubbling over into Thursday and even in some places to Wednesday, right?

So they, you know, if you're savvy, you know what time your store is starting their sales today and what time you need to get there. Actually, I don't even know that you can gauge what time you need to get there. Unless you're a fighter, you know, you can get there when they're about to open the doors and you can just fight your way to the front of the line to bust in there. But if you're a lover like me, then, you know, you're going to have to camp out for a little bit, which at this point in time, because it's almost two o'clock, you might be out of luck.

So the idea though, in my head, is that I should at least be able to sit down and enjoy my Thanksgiving meal before I go and fight crowds to get the best deals on whatever, whatever. Now, from what I understand though, a little secret here, it's best to stay away from shopping for toys at Black Friday, go for the big ticket items, you're going to save a lot more on those than once you build a little things. Getting closer to Christmas, you'll get more deals on the toys and whatnot. And then also this, rather than fighting the crowds, you know, a lot of the same deals, you can get online at a lot of these stores.

So, you know, it might not even be necessary to camp out. You can just sit by your computer and put it in your electronic shopping cart, check out, and then go and get some seconds on the desserts. But I did kind of want to highlight a few of the stores, you know, the ones that a lot of people go to, like Walmart, they're opening at six, well, let me not say opening, they're starting their Black Friday deals at six o'clock today. Best buy at five today, targets five as well, Coles five, Macy's five, JC Penney's was like, oh, we got y'all, we're going to start ours at two.

So if you're headed to JC Penney's for any deals, you might want to be making your way there now. And if you're military or you're military affiliated and you can shop at the exchange, they're starting at eight o'clock this morning. They have pretty good deals on a regular day, so I can't even imagine what it's like today. Let's see, a couple more, Dick's Sporting Good, six p.m.

And even five below has stuff going on. They're only five dollars, guys, really? So there's even more to be saved. Oh, and for all my crafters out there, Michael's six o'clock.

Now to close out this episode, I want my mini-me to tell me a few things, maybe, what are you thankful for today for Thanksgiving? I am thankful for my home, my family, and my teacher. Oh, you're a teacher? I love my teacher very, very much.

Oh, how sweet is that? Well, I am thankful for you and our family as well. And gosh, there's so many things. I don't know if I can name them all.

I'm thankful that we're gonna be eating in a little bit. I'm thankful for all of our Tweet Trends listeners. What do you think about that? I love it.

Oh, really? You love it. Okay, well, you guys, hopefully there are lots and lots of things that you're thankful for today. And if you can't think of a lot of things, focus on just one.

One main thing that you were thankful for, is that you are glad about and meditate on that. Get your joy from that thing. And then who knows, as time goes on, you can add more things to your list, being more thankful, and by Thanksgiving next year, who knows? That's it for the Thanksgiving episode of Tweet Trends.

Do me a favor and follow me at hevet. That's at H-E-V-E-T-T-E, or just look for the hashtag Tweet Trends. Enjoy your day today. Enjoy your family, the friends, the food, fellowship, all that good stuff.

And while you're at it, why not enjoy some physical activity too? Get outside with the family. Take a walk, burn off a few of those extra calories that you're gonna be taking in, because I guarantee you're gonna get extra calories today. So do that.

Do the right thing. Enjoy yourself. Enjoy your weekend. And I will see you again on Tuesday.
