That Look In Your Eyes

from John Dyhouse · host John Dyhouse

Based on a set of lyrics written in April, 1980. I always wrote lyrics and melodies at the same time, but cannot remember the original melodies nowadays. It was never a song I sang often - I don't think it was my style? I decided to use one of my stored persona - but with a new genre and style, good old Orion Vox. A song which I hoped would suit "him". But all is not lost, Suno to the rescue. I had decided to use all my old lyrics "as written"; some have needed a few tweaks and more recently as I get used to Suno's idiosyncracies, I find more and more "tweaks" are required. In this song some work was needed in the bridge especially. I only got a the third iteration when I sensed I was nearly there. Donloaded the vocal and instrumental stems and got to work in Audacity.Separated the two tracks by increasing the volume of the vocal slightly and adding a little reverb - not a lot - to the vocal as well. A little silence added to the beginning and end of the track and learnt how to delete some short silences and keep the stereo tracks in sync. Keep finding new tricks! Anyway, I am so happy with the final cut, hope it rings you bell.
