That Summer: Part One

A year after losing her husband in a tragic farming accident, Kate Moses has buried herself in work and grief on her isolated South Texas farm. When a nineteen-year-old college student arrives to help for the summer, she's determined to keep him at arm's length—but beneath her hardened exterior, the walls she's built begin to crack. Inspired by Garth Brooks' iconic song, That Summer, this is Part One of an original serialized story featured on Songbook—the podcast where country music is reimagined. Written and hosted by Sonja Heisinger, author of Anthology: Love Stories Inspired by Country Music, each episode transforms the heart of a beloved country song into a rich, character-driven narrative, inviting listeners to experience country music in an entirely new way.
