That Wasn’t Giving

There’s a difference between giving from the heart and giving with expectation—and sometimes we don’t realize that line has been crossed until a disagreement happens. In this episode, I take a closer look at what happens when generosity turns into reminders. When the words “after all I’ve done for you” enter the conversation, it shifts everything. What once felt like love can begin to feel like an obligation. I talk about the truth behind those moments—how they often come from hurt and disappointment, not just pride. I also share why we sometimes avoid asking directly for help, and how unspoken expectations can quietly change the meaning of what we give. This episode is not about blaming the giver or the receiver. It’s about understanding ourselves—our intentions, our emotions, and the importance of giving in a way that doesn’t leave us feeling resentful. Because real giving doesn’t keep score. And if it has to be brought up later… We have to ask ourselves—was it ever truly given? A reminder to give honestly, set boundaries when needed, and protect your peace without losing your heart.
