That'll Never Be Me...Until It Was
from The Queen’s Court · host Neicey Ford
I used to say, “That’ll never be me,” when I heard about a woman being abused. I meant it, too. Then I became the woman I never thought I would be. For Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’m sharing part of my story on The Queen’s Court. This was personal for me to record because I’m talking about experiences I once kept to myself—and why I didn’t feel comfortable telling anyone. I remember going to work the morning after an attack and having conversations with people who had no idea what I had just survived. When I say women suffer in silence, I know what that looks like because I did it. In this episode, I talk about leaving and what got me through it. I also share why you’ll never hear me ask another woman, “Why don’t you just leave?” I hope you’ll listen and think about whether the women in your life know they can come to you without being judged. 💜 🎙️ The Queen’s Court “That’ll Never Be Me… Until It Was” Content note: This episode includes descriptions of domestic violence and strangulation. #TheQueensCourt #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth #DomesticViolenceAwareness #SurvivorStory #SupportSurvivors #BreakTheSilence
