That’s It - A Rock Song

This rock song is based on an article by Kyle Becker (https://redstate.com/kyle-becker/2026/09/10/the-goo-goo-dolls-lead-singer-takes-a-stand-on-politics-in-shows-it-has-people-cheering-n2206772). Any time you introduce politics into something that should be about something else — sports, music, acting, fiction, storytelling — you are corrupting your relationship with your audience. — Kyle Becker, columnist, RedState That’s It lyrics No lecturesNo grandstandingNo woke-scoldingJust entertainment Live music is amazingI got peopleI got fansI got friendsFriends from every walk of lifeFriends from every political stripe We got one thing in commonWe’re all here to see a showI’m not going to lecture peopleNo lecture about anything I’m going to play songsWe’re all going to leave hereWe’re going to be happierWe’re going to be better for itThat’s it There is joyThere is happinessThere is sadnessThere is victoryThere is defeatThere is lifeThere is deathThere is grievingThere is healing I’m going to play songsWe’re all going to leave hereWe’re going to be happierWe’re going to be better for itThat’s it That’s it That’s it That’s it Heroes for Today is a reader-supported publication.
