"That's Life!" A Harrowing Tale of Triumph, Humiliation, and Gravity Falls

from Cracked Spines · host Cyrus Amelia Fisher and Sarah Palmer

What does a feel-good video about compassion in nursing, a trainwreck of social ineptitude at the site of a roadside attraction, and the television show Gravity Falls all have in common? Well, they're all in this episode, kinda funny, and somehow blisteringly earnest! After winning a prestigious Daisy Award for nursing last year, Sarah was selected for an exciting opportunity: recording a video meant to showcase her compassion and dedication set to soft piano music. Sarah doesn't quite spontaneously combust while talking about it, but it's a close thing.Meanwhile, Cyrus recounts their renewed obsession with the television show Gravity Falls, and the stop they made at the real-life Mystery Shack on a road trip down to California. They were definitely super normal and the experience hasn't haunted their dreams in the month since this was recorded.Originally we recorded this to be a single bonus episode about Gravity Falls, but as it turns out we had so many thoughts and feelings about things only tangentially related that we just had to turn this into a three-part series. You can find part two, where we actually talk about Gravity Falls, uploaded for free on our Patreon right here. Part three, where we cover The Book of Bill, is right here in our main feed! It's a triple episode day!Support the show

SPINES Podcast ZoomDoom Stories One day, Wren wakes up covered in blood, suffering from memory loss, and surrounded by the remnants of some strange cult ritual. SPINES is the story of her search for answers, and the deadly, powerful people she encounters along the way. Listen to the complete series now. Explicit Who Shat On The Floor At My Wedding? And Other Crimes Who shat on the floor at my wedding? And other crimes Who Shat On The Floor At My Wedding? was a question shared by brides Helen McLaughlin and Karen Whitehouse after they tied the knot on 11 August, 2018 on a boat in Amsterdam. It was a question that launched a podcast, which led to the hiring of unqualified detective Lauren Kilby, the purchase of a €99 lie detector, and the bothering of some of the world’s best forensic experts - all in an attempt to find out “poo dunnit”. For season 2, the investigative trio take on a brand new mystery set in Sweden (Scandi Noir if you will) called The Case Of The Tiny Suit/Case. For season 3, the unqualified detectives attempt to solve real non-crime crimes and ridiculous mysteries submitted by YOU - our precious listeners. Their selection criteria for new cases is simple: “Anything the police laugh at is a case for us.” And because ‘time is money’, all cases need to be cracked within 24 hours.  Hos Explicit Who Shat On The Floor At My Wedding?
