from The Evening Dew · host whatspodcasting
In March 2023, following his announcement as president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), President Bola Tinubu established a National Economy Sub-Committee as part of his Policy Advisory Council (PAC). This initiative was launched prior to his official inauguration on May 29th, 2023, with the objective of developing a strategic plan to grow Nigeria into a US$1 trillion economy. The driving goal for the Tinubu administration is to ensure the administration, if voted for a second tenure, makes Nigeria’s economy a US$ 1 trillion economy. The US$ 1 trillion economy is closely measured with four other targets including: having an annual average GDP growth of 7%; lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty; creating 50 million jobs; and ensuring all this growth is sustained and inclusive. To try to better understand how the government wants to achieve this, we spoke to the current Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, mni. She also sits on the board of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Our podcast: The Musa Obed podcast The notjustdesign Podcast ........ This podcast is managed by whatspodcasting.
