The 7 Holy Maccabee Martyrs and Their Courageous Witness

Today we remember the seven holy Maccabee martyrs: Abim, Antonius, Gurias, Eleazar, Eusebonus, Alimus, and Marcellus. Along with their mother Solomonia and their teacher Eleazar, they stood firm in their faith under the oppressive rule of King Antiochus IV Epiphanes in 166 BC. Their story is one of steadfast faith and courage. Despite facing brutal torture and death for refusing to abandon the Law of Moses, they remained faithful to God. Their witness inspired a revolt that restored the purity of the Temple in Jerusalem.Support the show
