THE Adventure

John Eldredge reminds us in his book Wild at Heart, “Life is not a problem to be solved, but an adventure to be lived.” How often do you and I look at life as a set of problems to be solved, though? This week’s episode focuses on just that: the adventure we’re called into by our Creator, and the practicality of this in our daily lives. It’s good stuff!One Passage of ScriptureMatthew 14:27-32 is a great depiction of being invited into a grand adventure by Jesus, stepping out of comfortability, and taking courageous steps of faith towards Him and the life He calls us to. There will always be wind and rain and “stuff” that keeps us in the safety of the boat or causes us to lose focus. But, we can put our faith in the fact that when these things seem to overpower us, Jesus is right there to help us back up and save us.But immediately Jesus spoke to them saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid. And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.”So whatever might be on the calendar and docket this week - remember that you have been personally invited into an adventure to live by God.
