The Adventures of Ferdinand Count Fathom Chapter 29

In which a wine merchant, beset by suspicions and ill-judged zeal, arrests our adventurer under the fear he is the Young Pretender, thus embroiling them both in a comical and vexatious examination before a rural justice. The truth unfolds slowly through forged letters and an interceding nobleman, leading to the release of our hero and the ignominious exposure of the merchant’s own illicit trade.
