Remember when you were a kid and you watched Indiana Jones swing by on a whip or unearth a new treasure or save the day? You were sure that if you just had the hat or the leather jacket you could be the next Indy ... and you were excited to find out what the next adventure would be - exciting? scary? confusing? sad? happy? What if we could read the story of the life of Jesus that way? What if we could be excited to find out what the next adventure will be? And instead of wanting to be the next Indy, what if we ended up wanting to emulate the way of Christ? That's what we're doing - one adventure at a time in this series: The Adventures of Jesus of Nazareth. Today we dive into Mark 2 and we see Jesus encounter a group of friends who dig through the roof of a house to bring their hurting friend before him. We see Jesus invite someone to join his group that all others had rejected - and then dine with him and all his friends! And we see Jesus go toe to toe with the religious leaders over the sacred law regarding the Sabbath. Let's go!
