The Adventures of Peregrine Pickle Volume 1 Chapter 9

In which the commodore is rescued and safely returned home to the great relief of his new bride and admirers, who then celebrate the postponed nuptials with a most maritime banquet and festive display. Yet the harmony of the household is soon disturbed by the bride’s determination to impose order and comfort, resulting in a spirited altercation that leaves the commodore blinded in one eye and firmly under her authoritative management.
