On this episode of The Aftermath we have M-16 welcoming back guest host Jae Ebony from the Black Girl Infinite Allure Podcast. Together they get into reviewing Drake's unexpected album drop, Honestly, Nevermind. Released on June 17th, 2022, this album showcases Drake’s take on dance hall and house music with its 14-track lineup. We break down each song on the album, discussing the lyrics, production, and overall replayability. With Drake's consistent media presence and past work setting high expectations, we delve into whether this album lives up to the hype or falls flat. From standout tracks like "Sticky" and "Flights Booked" to those that blur together, we analyze the creative decisions behind the music. Listen in as M-16 and Jae share differing opinions on various songs, revealing how subjectivity plays a huge role in music appreciation. Whether you're a hardcore Drake fan or new to his music, this episode brings a comprehensive insight into an album that challenges our perception of contemporary hip-hop.
