The All-Night Greenhouse on Old Mill Road

Luna tells the story of a greenhouse on Old Mill Road, on the edge of a small town called Marston. It was the summer of 2017, and the greenhouse stayed open all night, lit from within like a lantern. The woman who ran it, Helen, never seemed to sleep. She sold plants that grew in the dark, that bloomed only under the moon. Luna's friend Claire bought a cutting from her one sweltering July night. The cutting grew fast, too fast, and it began to hum. A low, persistent hum that vibrated through the floorboards. Claire called Luna, her voice thin, asking her to come see what was in the back room of the greenhouse. Luna went. She saw the shelves lined with jars of dark liquid, the roots that moved of their own accord, the plants that trembled when she spoke.
