The All-Night Laundromat on Route 22

It's two in the morning in late October, and the bus drops Luna at a Laundromat on Route 22 in a town called Mercy, Nebraska. She's waiting for the next bus, but the Laundromat is still open, run by a woman named Grace who doesn't seem surprised to see her. While Luna waits, she notices a man in the corner, folding the same shirt over and over. Grace tells her he's been there for years, waiting for someone who never shows.
