The Anchor Chain of Port William

from Cold Wake — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo

In the autumn of 2003, Luna spent a week in Port William, Maine, a fishing village on a granite cove where the tide ran fast and the fog ate sound. She had come to inventory the estate of an old lobsterman who had died alone in his house above the harbor. The house was full of clocks that ran at different times. The basement held something else: a chain bolted to the floor, leading down through a hole in the concrete into the dark below the house. The locals told her the old man had anchored something in the cove, something he pulled up one night and never put back. Luna walked the harbor at low tide and saw the chain disappearing into the mud. She never found out what was on the other end. But she heard it, one night, when the fog closed in and the chain went taut. #PortWilliam #Maine #AnchorChain #Lobsterman #TidalCove #Fog #Clocks #Basement #ConcreteHole #LowTide #ChainGoingTaut #FishingVillage #October #2003 #OldHouse #EstateInventory #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #MaritimeHorror #DeepSeaHorror Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
