Most people, when they have important news tell others, there is typically nothing to stop them from letting everyone they know about it. But, when there is Good News, they celebrate it and tell everyone about it, even strangers. This moment in world history was critical, the announcement to all creation that the King was born and God Himself had come to save His people. “Freedom is at hand; the promise has been fulfilled. Come and See Him.” Why shepherds? The Chief Shepherd had come to shepherds.
