The Angel of Death: The Lucy Letby Case

Lucy Letby was a pediatric nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital who was convicted of murdering seven infants and attempting to harm at least ten others between 2015 and 2016. Her crimes involved lethal methods such as injecting air into the infants' bloodstreams or insulin into their nutrition bags, and investigators later discovered a handwritten note in her home where she confessed, "I am evil, I did this". Despite repeated warnings from senior doctors, hospital management initially protected Letby and delayed police involvement for nearly two years, ultimately resulting in her receiving a whole-life sentence in 2023.
