Martin Tanner describes the duties and stewardship of the archangel Raphael, one of the seven great archangels. Raphael's unique function is healing. Raphael was the angel who healed those with diseases and infirmities in the Pool of Bethesda, in the New Testament. In D&C 128, in Temple dedications, and the dedicatory prayer of the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, Raphael is invoked to heal those who enter the baptismal font with illness, defects and infirmities, including blindness.
