THE ANOINTING AND THE ASSIGNMENT

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

Devotional Message: Scripture: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news…” — Luke 4:18 (NIV) The anointing of God is not for status — it’s for service. When God anoints you, He empowers you for a specific assignment. Just like Jesus declared in Luke 4:18, the anointing comes with a mission: to proclaim, to heal, to set free. Too often, we desire the oil but neglect the obedience it demands. The anointing is not just about spiritual gifts or emotional moments — it is God’s empowerment to accomplish what you could never do in your own strength. It aligns heaven’s power with your earthly purpose. When God calls you, He also equips you. The anointing gives clarity, courage, and capacity. Don’t minimize your assignment or envy another’s. What God has placed on your life is uniquely designed to break chains, bring hope, and reveal His glory. Today, ask yourself: Am I walking in the assignment that matches the anointing I’ve received? Have I been faithful to the purpose God empowered me for? Do I seek the anointing for recognition or for God’s mission? Prayer: Almighty Father, thank You for the anointing on my life. Help me to walk boldly in the assignment You’ve entrusted to me. Let Your Spirit guide my words, actions, and impact. I don’t want to waste Your oil—use me for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
