Did you know that there’s a gum you can give to cure people of Islamophobia? Well…no, not really, but it is a funny campaign created by the Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR) to poke fun at the current state of Islamophobia in this country. Our stranger this week, DR. ZAINAB CHAUDRY, is the Maryland Director for CAIR along with being a civil rights and political activist. She tells us about some of the issues they hear about daily from Muslims being impacted by the results of an imperialist and xenophobic government. We hear about some victories they have been able to win for the Muslim community. She also tells us the best ways to combat this sort of intolerance, creating a safer more inclusive world in 2020, and what to look out for in the upcoming election.
