The Antioch Paradigm
from Trinity Church of Portland Sermons
Spirit Empowered Mission, Part 35, from Acts 11:19-30. The scene shifts now to Antioch whose church became the most influential missionary church of all time. Its effect was far reaching and changed the world. We learn that like the Antioch church, a missionary church has the elements of empowered evangelism, a deliberate discipleship and the self-initiated sacrifice of its members. When people are changed by the grace of God through the gospel they will always imitate their Master in self-initiating sacrifice.
