The apostles' support acts
from The Word in Biggleswade Hosted by Biggleswade Baptist Church
This week Cliff helps us to explore some of the lesser known characters from the apostles. Barnabas and John Mark are almost sidekicks but they have a significant impact in the story of the early church. Barnabas was generous and consciously sacrificial. Open and welcoming. Barnabas was also courageous and forgiving - willing to give others a second chance. He encouraged and was discerning – he saw God at work in unlikely people. A man of great faith and full of the Holy Spirit. Barnabas took John Mark under his wing and discipled him in the way too. The Gospel of Mark is his handiwork and a permanent example to us in how we can live out our faith.
